To be quite honest, Finneas hadn't ever been one for the lavish. He had an eclectic taste that was best served via the second-hand. But when one has a chest full of gold to serve the castles needs!?! And the portraits were looking rather refreshed... They probably hadn't received some proper TLC in hundreds of years.

New, gold frames were a nice touch. Were they real gold? He had to lean in to get a better look.
Valencia continued down the hall of portraits, still looking for one to talk to. She definitely wasn't thinking about Aboli yelling at her. Nope. That occupied NONE of the Ravenclaw's headspace.
She noticed someone up ahead as she walked.
"Hello Professor." she greeted. "What... are you looking at?"
