Turning her attention back to the Headmaster, she listened as he told them the correct answer and then gave instructions on what they were to do. Looking up at the keys, she felt her stomach churning. She... was supposed to go... up there?

GULP.

”ah-SEN-dee-oh...” she practiced out loud without taking her wand. ”ah-SEN-dee-oh. Ah-SEEEEEEEEN-dee-oh. Ah-SEN-dee-ooooooh.”

Knots in her stomach, she glanced around to see what other students were doing, taking a peak at the Headmaster as well. How long could she practice saying it without trying it before she got in trouble? She took out her wand, hand trembling a bit. Pointing her wand upward and taking a deep breath, she closed her wand and said, ”uh-uh-ah-SEN-dee-oh.” Was anything happening? Did she go anywhere? Opening her eyes to take a peek, she realized she was still on the ground. Her shoulders relaxed as her hand fell to her side. She wasn’t sure if she was relieved or disappointed.

Okay... she had to try again. What was it the Headmaster had said? Intent and control. She could do this. She would just do it a little bit at the time. Intent... intent... her intent was to go just a couple feet off the ground. Just a couple feet. Pointing her wand up again, she said, ”Ascendio!” with more confidence this time, and to her immense surprise she came a couple of feet off the ground. In her shock, she lost her concentration and thus lost her control, falling back to the ground. She landed hard, on her feet, but hard. The kind of hard that sent a tingle up your legs into your back.

”Ow...” she gasped...

Ashley rolled her eyes at Claudine. Her care for the wellbeing of others extended pretty far, but that stopped at anything that was trying to kill her. If it broke a leg on the way down that was better than getting eaten. "Hey Ivy, wanna pair up?" She shot a couple feet in the air and landed, jut to show that she would be good at partnering. She had practiced before partnering, of course. "Ascendio," she said confidently, shooting into the air and grabbing for a key. She caught it and landed, twisting her ankle in the process. She winced slightly. "How many of these do you think we can get? Also, how are you at this? I can do it, but... it's clumsy."
