"Uh well your shoelace is untied, which I believe means that someone is saying nice things about you, but also that you will probably trip sometime soon." It was a combo of "divination" and rational analysis. Secretly, Ashley thought that Violet ought to tie her shoe, because it would be bad if she tripped and died. She had a bit of paranoia about untied shoes.
