Ashley wasn't sure how true that was, but it was like reading yourself instead of the future. And Ashley didn't mind making mistakes anyway.
Violet looked over at Ashley as she was one of the first to answer the professor's question. She'd been like the first kid to walk down that runway in her outfit, too--Violet wished she had that kind of confidence. And Ashley was only in her first year, too. Violet didn't know why she was so paranoid about doing things in front of other people--she guessed it was because she'd spent so much of her life alone so far. Except last year, but the people she'd been around then weren't very nice, so they definitely didn't count. She caught the younger girl's eye, smiled at her, and said,
"Way to go, Ashley, you looked great out there."
Violet resolved that she would just have to get over it, and determined to venture an answer to the question at least. Clothes and divination? She didn't know what the heck they had in common. Unless...hadn't Prof. Kitridge said something in the beginning about choosing the outfit that
felt like it was right for you? Hadn't she heard of something like that involving divination and objects?
Violet raised her hand.
"Can't some people get psychic impressions by holding people's belongings in their hands? Like, the objects give off some sort of vibrations or auras or something that tells the seer something about the person who wore them? Can clothes contain some sort of magic that draws you to them?"
