He let out a small sigh and cast his eyes around, looking for his friend. Oh. The guy had asked him something? "It's fine," he answered quietly. He wasn't supposed to talk about work. But, he had to say, he was no closer to finding out what had happened to him on the day he'd fallen asleep at work... not that he'd ever tell a random employee this.

"I'm just waiting for my gi-- er, uh, my friend. Jessica." David's cheeks turned a bit pink with this near slip-up. "We try to eat lunch together every day."

Conley blinked. Honestly? He hadn't thought about it like that. Giving a child a home? Mmm...he should really use that on Sachin. After all, his husband had been adopted. Now that the idea had been pointed out to him, he was surprised Sachin hadn't been the one to make that point. "Thanks," he said blushing. "I've always wanted to be a dad. Thought I would miss out on the opportunity." He had, after all, been widowed at a young age and never had thought he'd fall in love again or be in a place in his life where he felt confident enough to take care of another's life.

The sigh didn't go unnoticed. Perhaps Conley was being annoying. Still, the man had asked to join him so...the department head soldiered on with the conversation. "That's a lovely habit to have. Lunch with someone." He often ate alone - when he remembered to do so. He wished he had a lunch buddy. Sadly, Conley didn't have anyone he was that close with at work. Well, unless you counted his husband, which, well, he couldn't because they had an agreement to remain professional while at work. "I'm lucky if I remember my lunch 80% of the time." He chuckled.
