Kizzy hurried alongside Emm, coming to a stop where the crowd had started to gather. This was all sorts of unfair. She didn't even know what she did wrong! It's like the Headmaster WANTED them to get into trouble. And, as far as Kiz was concerned, Emm didn't do anything wrong either. This was wrong and cruel and the only good part was that they weren't stuck in detention earlier in the day because then it would have ruined her whole weekend. At least if it was really bad now, they could go snuggle in the dormitory after and talk about how horrible Professor Trent is. That thought made her feel a little less sad about it all.
But her eyes filled with more and more worry as she inched closer and closer to Emm. She hadn't ever received a detention before. What if mum and dad got mad? Kinsay briefly wondered whether Teddy would tell on her, but dismissed the thought almost immediately. He wouldn't do that. Maybe she needed to tell them though. It was all very confusing.
"Hi, Headmaster," she gave him a defeated (and deflated) look, not bothering to keep eye contact and instead looking down at her shoes. She had all sorts of questions about what they were going to do and what was behind the door and why he wanted to put them all in detention and--
But she was too scared to ask. Also, she was trying not to be incessant with her questions.
