 Which came first, the phoenix or the flame?
Ashley smirked. This detention was supposed to be a punishment, and knowing the headmaster, it would be terrible. But Ashley couldn't help but feel proud of what she had done. She hadn't thrown anyone under the bus by giving them detention. And she had (accidentally) contrived to get both her and her partner out of the duel with their wands by burning her arm off, and the headmaster hadn't called her on it yet. She didn't think he noticed. Yes, Ashley beamed. She was gleeful. Why? Because all of the headmaster's attempts to turn them all against each other had failed. They had failed HARD. In fact, she was convinced that most of the students were in this together and willing to help each other. She was in the best of moods for this detention, and there was absolutely NOTHING that was going to bring her down. She practically bounced as she waited for the other students to arrive, knowing that her happiness was going to deeply annoy the headmaster. |
