| ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes. SPOILER!!: Heath! <3 Quote:

It had taken him most of the day to think of something he could do to cheer her up, but he finally got the idea to try to make her a caramellate. The dark-haired Ravenclaw felt a strange sense of deja vu as he walked into the kitchen. This reminded him a lot of last term when he made soup for her, except there were two key differences this time. This time he thought ahead and wrote the recipe down - he even found one for caramel sauce too, just in case the house elves didn’t have any on hand, and even if he hadn’t, he would be in a better position to recall it without the memory issues from last term.
His eyes momentarily flicked toward the door as he set to work gathering the necessary ingredients and turning on the stove He wasn’t sure if Claudine would meet him here or not, and part of him couldn’t blame her if she didn’t. A fresh pang of guilt gripped him at the memory of his failed attempt to protect her. The guilt soon gave way to anger, but more than anything else, he felt betrayed… and like his namesake, this Heathcliff did not handle betrayal well!
He distracted himself with the mixture of caramel, milk, sugar, and coffee in the saucepan in front of him, watching it swirl around like the storm of his emotions as he stirred.
It had been a terrible start to her fourth year, with DADA. It was official: Claudine loathed Trent and his lessons were by far her worst. Even Muggle Studies was better for her, and that had started off as the worst one given her limited knowledge on Muggles. The rest of the day had improved slightly with the other lessons; the other professors were more tolerable. Still, she felt terrible because Heath’s wand was in her possession the entire time. Poor Heath. Stupid Trent with his stupid lesson activity.
Claudine, still somewhat down, had still agreed to meet Heath in the kitchen after classes. She had no idea what he was planning but the place seemed to be ‘their’ space. The girl didn't mind this one bit; the kitchen was always a good place to relax. Maybe she would ask the elves for some cookies… rainbow cookies if they had any.
Stepping into the kitchen, she immediately spotted Heath. To her, he seemed lost in thought. Claudine hesitated a moment, hovering slightly away from where he stood. Should she disturb him? I should, she decided almost immediately, especially if he might burn whatever it is he was making. “Hi, Heath,’’ the girl said softly, not wanting to startle him. “I’ve got your wand with me if you need it to help you cook.” |
