"You'd be right, sir," Nem confirmed, dropping into the chair and stretching their legs out in front of them, crossing them at the ankles. "I won't take up too much of your time."

Normally, they certainly would have. Mostly to butter the Headsman up so he might be more amenable to their request - Nem had no plan for this, and had confidently decided to play it by ear - but also just to be an inconvenience. Now with the Big Man it suddenly didn't seem necessary, though it was all a bit more unpredictable as things currently stood.

That was fine. Unpredictable was interesting... when it wasn't too inconvenient.

"Basically, sir, I made this appointment to ask if I could take a handful of my OWLs at the end of this term and get them out of the way or something. I'm more than capable, and right now... well. I need more mental stimulation, some kind of challenge. You know what they say about idle hands." Nem smiled; ostensibly a barely restrained grin. "Even reading and learning ahead gets dull, but I guess it's something. This morning's Defence lesson was one of the only times I've ever felt even remotely alive while at school, though."

Maybe more than just in school, but that was more a conversation for Nemesis to have with nobody, ever.
