"I really want to be a lifeguard, because you can help people and go to the beach. Imagine if you only knew the airway-clearing spell and the bubble-head spell. So many people wouldn't die. And they wouldn't have to do so much cpr. But I doubt we are allowed to use magic to help muggles. Probably end up getting arrested." She looked out the window gain. "The wizarding world is pretty great. And your dad is right. It's hard to keep magic a secret. Because it's fun and you could help people." Ashley wisely decided not to say more about the subject, because she knew you weren't supposed to share magic with muggles. "We should hang out sometime."
"
We really should," said Sophie with a smile. "
Are there any places you like to go to around the castle? By the way, I think you're completely right about using magic to help in so many ways. I don't understand why we're not supposed to use our magic to help Muggles. Since you're Muggle-born, I don't suppose your parents know much at all about magic or Hogwarts, do they?"
Sophie remembered how confused her dad had been when she had received her letter. Her mum had to explain everything, that no she couldn't go to an ordinary secondary school in the countryside near their village. She was so glad that she was a witch like her mum. Secondary school sounded super boring to her. Magic was so much more fun than learning more math or having to practice grammar or something. Blah.
