Taking out his wand from his robe, the Hufflepuff kept it at the ready before he took a bow. He wasn't sure if this was what the Headmaster wanted ~~seriously whatever they did everything seemed to be wrong~~ but every duel began with a bow right? Respect and all that. His eyes had never stopped looking at the girl though in case she decided to attack while he was bowing. "Incarcerous!" he shouted the moment he got back up and followed it with an "Expelliarmus!" and watched as the ropes and disarming light traveled her way.

Ashley bowed back. Was she supposed to do that? She dodged out of the way of expelliarmus but got hit with the incarcerous. Oop. Now she was stuck. She scrabbled at the rope with her hand and managed to get her wand through. She sent a jelly-fingers hex in his direction. All of a sudden an idea came into her head. "Petrificus Totalus!" She only had her mid-forearms through the ropes at this point, so she was basically a T. rex. She looked pretty ridiculous as she hopped towards him, trying to squirm free of the ropes and hoping that the spell worked.
