But then the fellow seventh year started speaking and......... uhhhhhhh????????? A duel. A dUEL?!
Hello, internal screaming.
The smile instantly vanished. He could already see how this mini duel was going to turn out. Carsyn was probably going to be great at it - didn't she do duelling club?! - while Lucas............ well. He just knew that this duel wasn't going to last very long.
If anything, he would've liked to go with the second option but he didn't have a game on him either which only meant one thing. "Well, I guess that's fair." he sighed, taking out his wand. He tried his best to give her a smile before walking a few steps away from her. Just a few, but not close enough that she could easily grab his sack of stones.
Reaching the right spot, Lucas turned around and held his wand up, getting into his best duelling stance. It was okay. This was going to be oKAY. "Ready, Carsyn?" That's exactly what she was thinking because well, after six years of classes with someone, you sort of learned who was good at what subject by now. And perhaps a duel was the wrong suggestion, given the panic that she noted on his expression but honestly Carsyn was just trying to think of some sort of fair way that didn't involve being physical because she got the sense that wasn't Luca's style.
But when he agreed on its fairness she nodded, cause that was pretty much all she was trying to do. "Ready as I'll ever be." And just as she bowed and considering her first spell to cast, the Headmaster called attention to them and told them to bring their sacks up to the box. She bit her lip apologetically at her co-prefect. "Guess we're out of luck on one of us seeing detention, huh?" She murmured as she turned toward the wall to reach down the front neckline of her shirt and remove the sack. Turning back around, she plopped the one sack into the box, giving an apologetic look to Trent.
Magical item that worked under the same principle. What was he talking about? Oh..... The elder wand. What did they know about the Elder wand. "It's the wood that gives it these properties." At least she was pretty sure that the different woods gave it differing properties, but wasn't that basic wand knowledge? "A wand is, as others mentioned, only as good as the wizard yielding it. It doesn't matter if it's the elder wand or something more common."
