Except that knowing Trent he'd probably pull some loophole and give detention to anyone who didn't participate because they didn't listen to him or his instructions.
But her heart skipped when she heard her name being called by an all too familiar voice (of course. They'd practically grown up together these past 6 years and even moreso in the last two). She grinned gratefully at Lucas, because she'd be able to participate and he was definitely docile in that she was nearly certain he wouldn't physically try to steal her sack of stones. "I'd agree with that. What do you say we do some sort of mini duel? Whoever loses has to hand over their bag of stones?" She considers this a moment. "We could also maybe play a game but I don't have any with me...." A duel seemed perfectly appropriate, yes? Lucas felt a great sense of relief wash over him at the grin. It could only mean one thing: that she was going to partner up with him. Why else would she be grinning? Because he was easy to beat since this was his worst subject? ........ Maybe. He wouldn't blame her if she did think. that.
But then the fellow seventh year started speaking and......... uhhhhhhh????????? A duel. A dUEL?!
Hello, internal screaming.
The smile instantly vanished. He could already see how this mini duel was going to turn out. Carsyn was probably going to be great at it - didn't she do duelling club?! - while Lucas............ well. He just knew that this duel wasn't going to last very long.
If anything, he would've liked to go with the second option but he didn't have a game on him either which only meant one thing. "Well, I guess that's fair." he sighed, taking out his wand. He tried his best to give her a smile before walking a few steps away from her. Just a few, but not close enough that she could easily grab his sack of stones.
Reaching the right spot, Lucas turned around and held his wand up, getting into his best duelling stance. It was okay. This was going to be oKAY. "Ready, Carsyn?"
