Annnnnd then the Prefect shouted the spell, aiming her wand down and everything. Bernie only had to move her own wand a bit downwards to block it and send it bouncing back to her. "Good try," she called out cheerfully and encouragingly. This was one of Bernie's better classes, didn't Aboli know that? She'd even duelled the Headmaster, almost exclusively using this spell, as a second year. She could protego all day-o.
Way to go, Bernadette! Aboli held out a gloved hand for the girl to high five.
"Cool! Look at you." She smiled encouragingly at Bernie, and with her free hand sent a quick
jelly-brain hex at Bernie, saying the spell under her breath.
Did she feel a little bad? Sure. But she had to look at it as a way of practice for Bernie - and honestly? Herself. They hadn't gotten to duel much last term with magic POOFING on them halfway through, and it was quite exhilarating practice indeed. Bernie would probably deflect it, right? Aboli had just witnessed her quick reflexes! But then again - the Slytherin had performed a sneak attack.
SO SHE WOULD SEE.
