Ashley was once again distracted from her thoughts. Probably a good thing, because her 'thoughts' were spiraling daydreams that were kinda dumb. Someone was talking to her. "Hello. I'm Ashley fox. She liked to talk and listen and fill up her life with interesting conversations. It was less lonely that way.
Oh, good! The girl was friendly. It was much easier to talk to first years when they were open to meeting new people. The shy ones were a bit trickier to coax out of their shells.
"Nice to meet you, Ashley! We're so happy to have you in the best house," Avalon said with a wink.
"Are you the first in your family to go to Hogwarts?" First generation students were always the most entertaining to observe, as they were completely in awe of the amount of food at the feast, the lofty corridors, and their first glances at the common room. Plus, she didn't want to bore the poor girl with information about Hogwarts if she already knew about it from her brothers or sisters.
