Her first start-of-term feast as a PREFECT! Avalon was absolutely thrilled, and she couldn't wait to show the new first years and transfers around. The train ride had been quite relaxing, and she had plenty of time to change into her robes (and affix her shiny new badge) before they arrived at Hogwarts. Glancing up at the staff table, she took in the seating arrangement, noticing the absence of Professor Rainwater and Professor Noble. Would there
ever be a year without a staff change? Avalon smirked at her Head of House's ghastly orange robes - leave it to Schmoe to bring the high fashion.

The fifth year glanced over as their first new eagle joined the table of blue and bronze. Avalon wasted no time in greeting her - she was a prefect now, so wasn't it her job to make all the new students feel welcome?
"Welcome to Ravenclaw!" she said warmly, extending her hand to the girl.
"My name is Avalon, Ravenclaw prefect." Was it braggy to attach the prefect title after her name when she was introducing herself to new students? Yeah, maybe it was.....although she did want them to know that she would be there for them if they needed any help with anything or had questions about Hogwarts. But she didn't want to seem arrogant. She made a mental note to drop that next time.
Avalon wanted to ask the first year more about herself to get to know her, but she didn't want to be pushy on the girl's first day. Not all Ravenclaws liked to chat. So the prefect decided to wait for her reply before bombarding her with questions and information about Hogwarts. Perhaps she could get a feel for the girl's personality first.
