Juliette felt the hag's grip on her hair release when Liza chomped down on her. Though she was relieved to finally be free, she was not expecting to witness what she just saw. The hag had sunk her teeth into Juli's beloved friend and savior.
"LET GO OF HER!!!" Juliette screamed, reaching for all the items on the table and hurling them at the witch. "LET GO OF LIZA!" She felt tears pricking at her eyes watching the scene unfurl before her. Never had Juliette felt so helpless in her life. She stopped throwing things temporarily to pick up the mirror - nearly throwing that right back. She felt her throat close up, unable to say anything back to Liza. What if those were Liza's last words? Tell Pete that the haiku was her favorite compliment? She bit her lip to stop herself from making an ugly sobbing sound. Instead, Juliette picked up continued to fling things blindly at the ugly hag. "YOU CAN'T EAT HER YOU OLD, UGLY, WRINKLY HAG OR I'LL HEX YOU!"
She fumbled to get her wand out, not used to using it outside of school. Who cares if she got expelled? Juliette was sure her mother would understand though she wasn't sure how she was going to explain this one to her. "LET GO!" She didn't even know what spell to use. It was like everything had just faded from her brain. She turned to look at the pregnant woman, tears freely rolling down her eyes. "Please... help... don't let her eat my friend..."
