Ughhhh. His mouth still felt weird. Why had he decided to go for the Bertie Botts against his better judgement?? He should have tried something different. Like maybe the blood pop flavor! Although... the name of that was concerning to him, almost as concerning as chocolate frog had initially.

He pretended to frown at Maya and her laughter, but honestly he was not perturbed. He liked when his siblings laughed, even if it was at his expense. Besides, he supposed he really did look funny. "The flavor is STRONG." Too strong! But maybe that was part of the draw of the weird candies? "I think next time I will just stick with the Whizzbee or something chocolate..." Or maybe just something where he was certain of what the flavor SHOULD be.

"It was Cinnamon. But really strong in the flavor. It felt like that Cinnamon challenge thing!" Not that he would have actually ever TRIED that. "Do you want to try it?" He pushed the bowl closer towards her again. "Wait, which one?? The mystery flavor?" Wouldn't THAT be a fun birthday surprise...

A more solid version of a soda float. At the mention of bringing the rest of the siblings into this ice cream affair, Maya beamed. "We could have a birthday party here!" Maya exclaimed. If the weather was nice, they'd be able to get a table outside and have all sorts of balloons. Hopefully that would be allowed. "I bet Lisa would love it here." She could already see her sister running around playing make believe in a princess dress.

Did she feel slightly guilty at laughing at her brother when she saw his frown? Maybe just a little. Though she knew it was a fake, she also knew it wasn't fun to laugh at someone else's expense... especially if they were in pain. "Oh! I saw a chocolate frog flavor that looked like a good choice for next time," Maya offered. "But hopefully it doesn't have real frogs..." That would be a weird ice cream flavor... chocolate and frogs.

"Did it taste like a Red Hot?" Maya asked. She looked at the bowl yet again. It had been moved closer. How spicy could it be? "Yeah, Bertie Bott's mystery flavor ice cream cake in a magic ice cream parlor sounds like the best birthday ever!" Or maybe in a library? But she'd hate to damage any of the books if anyone was particularly messy... "I'm going to try it."

Determined, Maya wiped her spoon with a napkin once more and reached towards the supposed cinnamon flavored ice cream. Getting just a smaaaaaalllll little bite of it, she let the ice cream melt on her tongue before her eyes shot wide. "SPICY! SPICY!!!!!" Maya exclaimed loudly while laughing. She could feel tears coming to her eyes as her throat lit on fire. She opened her mouth and fanned it, knowing it wouldn't help but hoping anyways. Then like her brother, she took a huge spoonful of ice cream - not Bertie Bott's - and calmed down, allowing the burning to turn into a nice tingle of pumpkin.
