"In some ways," she replied with a shrug. "The director spotted me at a party and would not take no for an answer." And she had tried, truly, and the financial offer had not been something to turn her nose up at. Her and Jerry had been managing but her having one steady and legitimate job was certainly a bonus. "It is still very much a work of fiction. The first edits I demanded of the script were that my character's blood status as a Veela be rewritten." Absolutely not. "Apparently the main character being a no-maj has enriched the story."
Staring back at him, Valerie decided that David Truebridge had rather handsome eyes. Handsome enough for someone who had the uncanny knack of infuriating her with the mere blink of an eyelash. "He was disrupting my studying in the library during final exams. Much more quiet as a cockroach."
She gazed upon him once again, her curiosity tickled a bit more and finding herself to be feeling...moderately pleasant enough. "And what is it that you have to do after you have finished your business here in this shop?" David was interested, and tempted to ask if he could come to the screening of it. On a scale of a mlid eye roll to hexing him into a new species, how annoyed would Valerie be if he did request that? Heh.
"What a classic love story," he remarked sardonically, not even attempting to hide his smirk now. In what world did Valerie not stand out across a room? She had certainly caught his curious eye, though for reasons that were likely different from some sleazy director. "Some people would consider it flattering to be cast as a Veela." Honestly, lucky her. The most common comparison he received was to a tree frog or common toad. Of course this went without saying. He also had no opinion on the no-maj plotline, offering the slightest of shrugs from his bony shoulders. Muggles were just... in existence. Nothing exciting about them, though they did offer entertainment from time to time.
Well. He stared back at her, nonplussed by this excuse. "He did deserve it then." One could not disturb others in the library without expecting consequences. Libraries were one of the holiest, happiest places for this Ravenclaw, and deserved the utmost respect.
Oh, him. "Nothing, to be frank," David glanced away from her and towards the colorful bits of glass that had caught his eye earlier. "I came in here hoping to find some inspiration for how I spend my next few hours." And had he found it? Hmm....
