It caused a loud clatter as the metal frame hit the floor and all its items went scrambling with it.
Not to be outdone by her little display, Emmerson threw herself to the floor with the falling shelf, managing to land with her legs splayed and her knees bent. "Ow! Owwwww!" She cried, the waterworks on cue with this horrid act of clearly being shoved. "Oww! Mama, Maammaaaa. Someone pushed me! Owwwwww! Mama, it hurts." The small girl clutched her knee, rubbing it as if it burned something fierce. It had taken no time at all for her face to become flooded with tears.
Revenge was alright, but the girl was bigger. She'd never be able to hurt her the way she wanted, not yet. Best to have someone else (her mother, please be her mother rather than a reasonable shopkeeper) handle it. "My kneeeee." Instant Darkness Pow....owwowwoww. Uh oh. The echoing OW OWWWWS and all the clattering products... it was enough to make Bernie WISH they had the instant darkness powder here on the floor for her to sample. Because this was NOT what she needed on a low-profile shopping trip. A scene?! Her?! "It wasn't me," the fourteen-year-old delcared immediately, loudly, already inching away from the scene. "Someone come help this poor child. I think she's having spasms." Clearly. Because what else would cause her to suddenly flail and knock over a buncha stuff like that? "It's probably Tourette's," Bernadette added to herself; this was usually her guess when people were strange and dramatic, like Professor Schmoe.
Meanwhile, she'd made it over to the display of tricks and things, and quickly jammed a Headless Hat on her head, under the guise of testing it out. Now no one could see her to blame her, right?
