He wrinkled his nose slightly before deciding to pass on them. Hmm... but what else could he try? Maybe the thing called... Blood pops? Although, that also sounded kind of gross...
He was lost in his decision making on the very important decision of candy, when he jumped slightly hearing another voice. Evan turned noticing a girl who looked around his age. How to reach the top shelf? E blinked slightly, looking from her to waaaay up where there was another row of candies he hadn't even looked at yet. "Umm, I'm not actually sure... maybe there is someone taller around you could ask?" Hopefully he'd be tall ONE day. Today was unfortunately not that day... "I could help you look for someone?" He hated being unhelpful, but finding someone else was really all he could assist with.
And then she was asking if he was... okay? Right. Yes, he was staring and definitely looking lost. All of these new things were just so... new! "Oh, um... yes. I'm... muggle born I think is what it's called? I was just trying to decide what to try from the shelves!" It really would have been nice if his family had not kept him so in the dark about the magical world Noah had been living in so he didn't look so SILLY. Like right NOW. "What's your favorite?" Watching this boy try and make a decision was amusing but not quite as amusing as him jumping at the sound of her voice which honestly made a change. With her nose usually pressed in a book, the youngest of the Luck’s was always getting startled and then frustrated so, for the shoe to be on the other foot was amusing, if not downright hilarious. Giggling a little, Ingrid tucked a loose strand of hair behind one on her ears and tempered her laughter knowing all too well how annoying it could be. “I hope there’s someone else taller than me here or I’ll never get anything I want” , she replied, the smile on her face lingering like a Niffler around a pot of gold.
Considered his offer for a brief moment before nodding, Ingrid contined “I don’t really know what I want. I need to buy something for my brother and sisters to welcome them home but when I pick, maybe we could find help then?” . Scratch that. Adam wouldn’t want any because he was training so maybe just Vi and Thess? Either way, that only made her problem a little smaller.
Ingrid’s eyes began to move away from the boy now as they began taking in the bright and colourful, sugary treats tucked away in the jars around her. It was only when he mentioned that he was a muggle that she really turned back towards him, the expression on her face changing to one of understanding. He was staring earlier because he’d never been here before! It all made sense now! She herself had been here many times if only to drop her brother and sisters off for the train but she had been around Diagon Alley, if only for a few hours so she understood how he was feeling. Maybe becoming some kind of detective was her true calling when she graduated from Hogwarts! “Muggle born? You should try everything then!. Choosing to ignore the fact that he was muggleborn because it really didn’t matter to her, she moved towards one of the jars that she could actually reach and began pouring some of the sweets out. “I love the Puckering Sour Swirls. Sour sweets are the best!”. How could someone not love the taste of something so sour it burns a hole through your tongue! |
