"Oh?" Oh ho ho, a scene in her character's bedroom. Yes, do go on, please. Describe the aesthetic she was seeking. "Your aesthetic? So are you playing yourself, then?" He was amused now, incredibly amused by this unexpected reason behind her shopping. Of course she was the sort to find flaws in everyone else employed on the set, mhmm, no surprises there. But really, if this wasn't a biopic, then what was her character like? This was so much more interesting than debating... er, who were they discussing again?
Kafka, that's right. He stared right back at her, unflinching in his cool gaze. "That is a fair observation." Regarding the idea to turn one's hobby into a profession; such advice that had been given to him many times, and generally he had ignored it for this very reason. And also because he didn't really need to work, did he? Work was just another pasttime that meant he could, at last, rest on his own laurels instead of on an inheritance. It would be a fine use of his time, he supposed. He might as well give it a try like all the plebs in town.
His mouth twitched into a genuine smile at her last sentence. "What did the poor sap do to deserve it that time?" Please, tell him the full story. She apparently did films. Though there was a part of her that was hoping it never made it off the cutting room floor whenever it was they entered editing which was still months away according to the schedule. She caught the gaping though this time she felt little irritation because of it. She knew how shocking it came across and she was equally as baffled.
"In some ways," she replied with a shrug. "The director spotted me at a party and would not take no for an answer." And she had tried, truly, and the financial offer had not been something to turn her nose up at. Her and Jerry had been managing but her having one steady and legitimate job was certainly a bonus. "It is still very much a work of fiction. The first edits I demanded of the script were that my character's blood status as a Veela be rewritten." Absolutely not. "Apparently the main character being a no-maj has enriched the story."
Staring back at him, Valerie decided that David Truebridge had rather handsome eyes. Handsome enough for someone who had the uncanny knack of infuriating her with the mere blink of an eyelash. "He was disrupting my studying in the library during final exams. Much more quiet as a cockroach."
She gazed upon him once again, her curiosity tickled a bit more and finding herself to be feeling...moderately pleasant enough. "And what is it that you have to do after you have finished your business here in this shop?"
