So David Truebridge was not as good at making connections as he prided himself on. "Kintsugi," she simply repeated as she added the current pot in her possession along with one more that had likewise caught her eye. "I had thought that was obvious. Though if you are referring to what I intend to do with them after, that is something I will consider later." She had plenty of her own private supplies and home grown herbs that she could use them for. Or perhaps something else entirely. "No. I rarely find shopping to be a thrilling experience. I was here on an errand." She was certain that film crews had people who did this sort of thing for directors rather than the actresses, but for whatever reason the crew was particularly hesitant in making selections for her and the director wanted her to feel as authentic as possible.
His assumption, which was not false, tickled her interest and she turned to face him properly. "I am curious as to what makes you think so?" she asked upon wetting her lips and then taking a moment to lightly gnaw on her lower lip. Had she suddenly found herself concerned with how he perceived her? Possibly. It was a very very slender possibility. David O. Truebridge was perfectly adequate at making connections, thank you very much. "Yessss," he repeated slowly, as though Valerie were a bit thick, "I was referring to what you will do with them later." Obviously. Had that not been obvious to Ms. Queen of Making Connections and Snobbish Remarks? He scoffed lightly at his own thoughts and looked down the aisle past her, his blue eyes focusing on an odd gear display that nearly looked like a skeleton. Mmm. Was this a deliberate display then? Why did it appear to be grinning at him? Were those the spokes from a Muggle bicyclergy being incorporated into the design? Is that what it was called, a bicyclergy?
Yes, he could tell the shopping bit about her, see. Another point in his column, thank you again. "An errand? From whom?" Not that he cared to be this nosy, but Davie had found that asking Valerie pointless questions was a good way to bring out her prickly side, and he did so enjoy seeing her cactus-like tendencies. He hmmed to himself, eying her lips when she licked them and then returning his bright eyes to hers.
"Well the sudden bit of transfiguration seemed like something you'd enjoy reading about," he pointed out lightly, amusedly. "Maybe even something you'd try on someone." No, David was NOT suggesting that she turn him into a cockroach. She'd already attempted partial animal-human transfiguration on him and he wasn't exactly keen to try it again.
