So she just nodded and smiled and pretended to be.....you know, understanding him.
OH HE WORKED IN MYSTERIES. Her annoyance at a person randomly popping in to redo paperwork was gone because duh! He worked here! Jessica smiled as she glanced at him, this time her smile genuine. "Mysteries! I haven't gone down there yet, but one of my friends works there and I've been meaning to bother him actually! He's new, too, like me! David Truebridge," she grinned. "Do you know him?" She couldn't remember what exactly David had said he did down there, though. hmm.
This was such an odd encounter. "I keep sneezing because you smell so lovely - " gosh, had she said that aloud??? Well, it was sure true! Finally! She seemed to get what he meant. Really, he thought this floor had translations charms on it. But maybe like the lifts, they weren’t working? It was possible. ”Vell, careful vhen you do go. Ze Entry Chamber can be ofervelming to people vho are not used to it.” He briefly remembered the time his girlfriend had tried to come visit and he hadn’t thought to warn her. ”It turns.” he clarified, twirling a finger in the air. Spins would have been a better word, but Adam didn’t know it. Hopefully that was enough of an explanation.
Ahhhh so she was new. No wonder this conversation seemed weird. Although he still wasn’t sure why he had a craving for a sugar cookie. As for a David…there were a few new people down in Mysteries this year, but he thought that name sounded familiar. Because yes…he must have been the bloke who had been ease dropping in the Hall of Prophesies. Not that he had heard anything interesting, just an odd story about a hiccupping solution being mistaken for tea once. ” I may haf once met him.” Was it rude to say David hadn’t really introduced himself well? Then again, a lot of his coworkers down there had the tendency to ease drop instead of just walking up and joining a conversation right-out.
He smelled lovely? What did that mean? Adam’s brown furrowed. ”I smell?” he asked. ”No no… I bazzed zis morning.” He plucked at the collar of his shirt and gave it a sniff.
