Rhibear ~ Madam Solo ~ Dark Brooding Girl ~ Accio Jedi ~ Gryffinclaw ~ Just a doll Wait, so this wasn’t a girls-only pool party? Heath wasn’t sure what to make of that. While he was relieved that he wasn’t inadvertently intruding on something, he didn’t fancy the idea of being barefoot in front of everyone! It wasn’t that his feet were gross or anything like that, but still he wouldn’t put it past some people to make fun of him. He was self conscious, okay?
Even so, Heath knew it wouldn’t do any good to complain, so he reluctantly removed his shoes and socks, placing them neatly near the wall. He cautiously stepped into the pool, looking around for a tall student to hide behind. If no one saw him, no one could make fun of him! Hoping to go unnoticed, he positioned himself near Ewan just before the lesson began.
Apparently they were talking about exercise today. Great. So did that mean they would be doing some form of exercise later? Heath still had no idea where this was going, but whatever it was, he had a feeling he was going to fail miserably at it. As if it wasn’t enough to worry about people making fun of his feet, now he had to worry about them making fun of his lack of athleticism too. He was an actor, not an athlete! In his nervousness, he completely forgot what the question was. Oh, right, forms of muggle exercise.
He thought for a minute. Did fencing count? He’d picked up some limited knowledge of that sport while training for a fight scene in a play, and he rather liked it. Never mind, that probably wasn’t the kind of answer Schmoe was looking for. Already second guessing himself, Heath decided to go with a safer option. “Football, or soccer, as it’s called in some parts of the world,” he said after raising his hand. “It’s a sport played with two teams of 11 people.”
It also just happened to be his grandpa’s (the muggle one that he was sort of named for) favorite sport, which was the only reason why Heath knew anything about it. He shook his head, trying to block out the memories of watching football on television with his grandfather. Nope, he could not allow himself to think of his family! Then he’d start missing them all over again and getting all emotional, and nobody needed to see that!
