She shrugged her shoulder, “well...it is, if you just met someone you could easily forget their name” she shrugged, “I mean...its a bit weird to just meet someone this far into the school year though” she postulated as she shrugged her shoulder and grinned at him. “I don’t think we’ll forget the big things,...i know I know I won’t forget about my family things,” she wasn’t going to go into it, but it wasn’t a big secret that she had a messy issue with her family. She looked up at him, “I’ve been thinking that this memory thing is suspicious, and have been starting to suspect that weather guy” she admitted as she stood there with the Prefect. RIGHT THAT’S WHAT HE WAS.

“sorry about the name thing, I’ve just...always been rubbish with names” she admitted with a small smile. It wasn’t a memory poof thing, it was a I’m just bad at this thing, and it had apparently been something that her own aunt’s brain had done too? Listing off nearly every possible name before coming to the right one half of the time. “I once called my dad our dogs name” she admitted with a laugh. The honey eyed brunette just looked at the seventh year and frowned slightly, “do you need to sit down?” she asked, concern practically coming off of her in waves, “you look like you might be having a panic attack, I get them...” she added the last bit as reassurance as she reached into her bag and pulled out a small smooth stone, “take this, rub your finger on the divot there when you feel all anxious and stuff...its calming, it should be.”

If he was being honest, most of the children in the school would have understood where she was coming from but he knew not all of them would have been so forgiving. He’d met a few people who hadn’t taken well to his forgetfulness of late so it wasn’t really a surprise that she had in fact thanked him. For him though, being a little considerate was just who he was. ”I mean, it’s not your fault”. No, it was one hundred percent the fault of that stupid storm or the castle. Either way, it didn’t seem like it had something to do with a single student. As for her offer to help with his headache, he just gave his head a small shake and smiled at her ”Nah, I’ll just try and wait this out. I mean, hopefully it’ll go soon anyway” although even as he said it, he knew that that was a lie. It was here to stay for the time being and there was no getting rid of it. Not without magic at least. Besides, he didn’t really accept medication from other people. You know, for safety reasons. Not that he didn’t trust her of course!

Oh. Yes. Being here for so long, he did sometimes take for granted that not everyone had been as lucky as he was. Not everyone got the chance to spend seven years at the finest magical school in the wizarding world. ”Oh, right. Yeah. Good point”. A smile would have been spreading across his face now had it not been for the overarching sense of dread at the idea of forgetting about his father and Hogwarts. Giving her a small nod and a forced chuckle, he jammed his hands into his pockets and clenched them tight as he took another deep breath. ”I’m fine” was all he could say as he stood there, his nails now digging into his palms. He wasn’t having a panic attack, was he? No. Not right now. Not without Beth…

Blinking slightly, the Ravenclaw prefect froze, his train of thought a complete car crash as the name of his ex fluttered in and out of his brain. Where did that come from? It must have just been because she was always there for him whenever he’d had a panic attack before. Yeah. A reassuring face. That was all it was.

Focusing now on the conversation at hand, he forced one of his hands to unclench and pulled it out of his pocket and stretched it towards her palm up so that he could accept the stone.

”Thanks. Does it actually work?”

He’d never actually tried anything like this before but it couldn’t hurt, right?
