The stench coming from the back of the potions lab made Islay’s stomach flutter as if she was going to be sick. She was going to be fine. Breathing through her mouth so she could at least handle the scent of the room with a little more ease. “I’m sorry about the state of the room Professor,” she smiled over to the oldest person in the room. She didn’t remember if he was the professor at all, but it was easier to think he was.

Walking further into the room the brunette just glanced around the room for a moment. Taking her bag she moved and found an empty seat and sat down. Placing her bag on the table she began looking through it. She had her box of pens, after all she had never come to enjoy writing with a quill. One glove – one...glove. She shrugged her shoulder and just dumped the contents of her bag onto the work station as she looked through them and organized them.

Pen, quill,...ink...pencils – she opened the little empty pouch she normally kept her pens inside and stuffed them in – taking special care to put the quill back inside of her bag as she wasn’t going to use a quill today. She’d probably come out looking like a Rorschach test. Next, she took out her potions book and notebook and placed them on the table as she had every day. This was now her routine – go through her bag and put away the things she probably wouldn’t need.

Shoving everything she wasn’t going to use back into her bag the Gryffindor looked at the Professor again and questioned if she had greeted him yet. Surely she hadn’t “Hello Professor, are you having a nice day despite the state of the room?” she asked with a kind smile.
