Sam just observed as Genny was being bossy and David was being submissive. What an interesting evening they were all having here. Such fun.
He ignored the whisper under Genny's breath and moved to the side once David added his order. He got out his wallet to pay, but paused when David tried to give him a fifty pound note. Um, was he thick? Sam eyed the other man. Oh. No. Just blind. As the occasional squintiness reminded him. "This is a fifty," he said, as he handed the bill back. "Don't worry about it." Sam just wanted to pay already because he hated being the person that held up the line. So he paid with his muggle money and watched as their order was brought to the counter.
Finally. Food. This ought to bring his lovely girlfriend out of her hangry state. Sam grabbed his sandwich and the squash that he and Genny would split. "Genny tells me you're doing some sort of dating experiment, David." He took a gulp of the red juice as they grabbed their extra-tahini sandwiches. It was a wonder why he needed his girlfriend as a plus-one then, ahem ahem.
