"So that's where I want YOU to start," he continued. "Start by building a relationship with them. I'm suggesting the winged horses to you, because they need a LOT of exercise, and we have a lot of grounds for them, but you're welcome to visit any of the animals here." WWW gestured out toward the creature sanctuary. "I mean, I think your grade is fine, but I've always found real-world experience to be a better teacher than a book. I used to bring my book down to the stables and out to the gardens to compare what the textbook said with what things actually looked and acted like." You know? Hogwarts was unique in this regard. Not all kids went to awesome magical boarding schools with lots of resources, apparently.
Whoa! Now that wasn't something he had expected to hear. Sure, he knew his answer was a good one but perfect?! Lukas couldn't help but smile brightly at Williamson.
"Thank you."
Lukas nodded.
"I can do that." Starting as soon as possible.
"What type of exercise? Do they need to just be let out and brought around the grounds or do they roam around on their own? Can I ride them?!" Now that was the important question. Obviously he wouldn't even attempt to do so until he had befriended them and they trusted him. The smile on his face grow even more.
"I'll do that too." Visit the other creatures that is. Familiarizing himself with as many of the creatures in the barns would be amazing. Bring a textbook outside and compare what the book said to what he what he was finding out on his own. Now there was a thought!
"I've never done that before but I think I just might do that now. Compare what I've read to what I know to what I'm learning." Sounds like he has his work cut out for him!
"I'll get started as soon as I can. Is there anything I should really know about any of the winged horses before I go into the barn? Any of them that I should steer clear of?" Not that he would completely keep away from any of them, he would simply be more cautious and really get to know each of them.
