Hmmm. Aboli thought for a moment. "I guess I'd wish my bio dad wasn't such a piece of...ahem, trash," she shrugged. "He kinda left my mum in the muck of it....after she had my little brother. But then....I might not have my stepdad and I LOVE my stepdad." He was her ROCK. "Even if he's strict. Like. Super strict." That was annoying sometimes, but she'd deal. "But everything falls into place for a reason...I'm a big believer in destiny and whatnot." It was hard not to, when your mum was a proper seer. But Kimmie didn't need to know that about her mum just yet. She only trusted certain people with her family nonsense. Kimmie had pieces of it for now.
Though....if Kimmie looked up the magazine, she'd see Aboli's mum's name AND know she was one. Whatever. That would be a lot of work. "She writes for WHiM. A wizarding magazine...she does an advice column AND dream interpretation," she shrugged. Whatever. "She's quiiiiiite good at it, too."
K nodded her head when Aboli reminded that they couldn't chew in class, which did make sense since some people could be rather annoying with loud pops and smacking as they chewed on a piece of gum, but she raised her eyebrow slightly when the Slytherin said she didn't want to get in trouble.
"Question, do you ever do anything to get in trouble or do you prefer to fly under the radar?" Merely because she was curious. And also should probably know whom to keep any future shenanigan planning quiet from. Gum flavor type?
"Minty. Definitely minty. Fruit flavors get gross super quickly. And like, actual bubblegum flavored is really only the best for large obnoxious bubbles." The flavor itself was so so.
"Did I answer correctly?"
She moved herself down to sit on the mat again as well as Aboli talked about what she would change, nodding her head slightly. She was curious to ask more about her dad, but they hardly knew each other and this was personal as it wasn't. She wasn't a COMPLETE monster and she knew there were limits to what was appropriate to pry into.
"That's awful that he bounced. But like you said, at least you got your step dad out of it. Sounds like you guys have a really good relationship. AND you got your baby brother now as well." Which she seemed to adore him as well.
"Do you get in trouble a fair bit with your step dad?" Her mom could be strict as well, and K seemed to ALWAYS been on the receiving end of a punishment.
"I do think you're right though, things happen for a reason -- they can still stink though for a bit."
Oooooh, dream interpretations?! That sounded like fun!
"Oooh, I'll have to pick up a copy. I like reading dream interpretations. Divination is pretty much the only school subject I really enjoy." Why? She had no idea. But it was fun, and the professor was usually a little bit on the quirky side. Who didn't like quirky?
