But the more she heard about Alaska the more she longed to visit. Northern Lights?! Cool! She bet it was soooOooo pretty, too. "I bet you've met one and you didn't know it! Though...I think they're very cold. I wouldn't know," she shrugged. "But I DO KNOW that my brother and I BOTH enjoy the bloodpops sold at candy shops," she smirked. One of her odder qualities, but not the oddest one, for sure. Aboli switched positions, one where she stood on one leg, balanced perfectly. Her breathing was so controlled....she wasn't entirely focused on it, though, because she was chatting with Kimmie, but it was still quite relaxing and clearing for her head.
"Yep! I know Korean, too...Noah and I speak it sometimes," she tried not to sound TOO smug about it. Since Kimmie probably didn't know it...it was something only SHE AND NOAH could share. So. ha, Kimmie. Not that she'd ever say that to the girl's face, but it felt nice to have something that Kimmie didn't. "Since my stepdad's been around since I was very young...he taught us. I also know Hindi. My grandparents are Indian." Aboli thought herself very cultured.
And while she did miss her sibling at home, she still did have Koko."Oh wow...you have a sibling all the way in America...? That must be hard. I can't imagine being that far from Koko...or Liam, to be honest." She set her foot down, back on two feet, and stretched to the sky again. "Do you write her often?"
K stopped what she was doing for a moment to ponder on Aboli's question.
Was she personally intimidated by the Slytherin? On the one hand it didn't really matter to her what people thought of her but like... Aboli was pretty and important to Noah so to some degree she probably had a smidgen of jealousy. Was that the same as intimidation?
"I guess sometimes." Yeah, we'd go with intimidation.
"That's quite a possibility." She didn't usually go around asking people what kind of magical beings they were. Cause, reasons.
"I'll have to pay more attention to my extra pale neighbors now." If they were cold, maybe she could accidently touch them to confirm? Bloodpops?
"You know, I don't think I have ever tried those... do they taste like accidently biting the inside of your cheek?" Because they were supposed to taste like real blood, right? K switched sides for her warrier pose to stretch out her other leg before moving on to tree pose for balance.
Hearing Aboli speak again, K took a couple of breaths blaming it on her inner search for peace and balance instead of the little green monster clawing at the inside of her. She refused to acknowledge fully whatever she was feeling, instead focusing on conversation and breathing.
"That's really cool! It must be cool to know so many different languages. And to be involved with a couple different cultures." K's family was pretty American, minus her Grandda in Ireland.
And then Aboli mentioned that it must be hard to be away from her siblings, and K had to fight back a sigh and just settled on the briefest of nods.
"It's harder than I thought it would be." Honestly, one of the biggest motivators in leaving Ilvermony is she wanted to be away from Lucy so she could feel like they weren't always being compared. But the fact of the matter was Lu wasn't the one comparing, and now she just missed her.
"Fairly often, yeah. She keeps me updated on Ilvermony." She hadn't shared too much with her though in reality about Hogwarts. Oops?
"What about you, do you write your family pretty often?"
