She'd been obsessed with elves ever since she met one on the Hogwarts Express!!!! Only he had been a, er, metamorphagus, not an elf. Whatever. She KNEW the elves here!!!!!!!!!
"Hmm." Bernie kind of liked Juliette's idea, but she also did not trust the tables to send her up. Knowing her luck, she'd just be stuck down here and would miss dinner entirely and then get in trouble with the Headmaster/her Head of House/and then get expelled. SIGH. "Why don't YOU try that, and report back to me?" Come onnnnnnn, housemate! Bernie flashed her a brilliant grin and continued her search for the house-elves.
The third-year was, perhaps, definitely pretending to not hear Juliette's nudges to start baking. She was going to thoroughly search for the house-elves first, in case she could coerce them into cooking for her. This was supposed to be a quick trip to the kitchens, not an all-day activity in which she was forced to produce something tasty AND good-looking for Juliette!!!!!!! Bernie was feeling the bern all the pressure!!!!!!!1
She did, however, let out a gasp, and looked up from where she was looking under the table. She nearly hit her head on it, but stopped herself just in time. "You're right! WE SHOULD MAKE THEM A BED!!" Or buy them one, or whatever. Bernie was ENTHRALLED by the literary reference to Roald Dahl, by the by.
Erm... yeah no, they COULD cook down here, but again Bernie attempted to dodge that by pointing at something random by the fireplace, behind Juliette's head. "Oh wow gasp wow look!" And paaaaaaause to see if Juliette would looooooooooooook, "You just missed it. A house elf! I swear Tinka just ran by!"
