She certainly wasn't going to whistle like she was calling for her mum's crup back at home though. "Back home, the house elf's name is Poppy so we just call for her and she shows up..." Hmm... maybe a house elf's name was written somewhere here. "I don't know the names of the elves here though." Which was unfortunate because if she knew their names maybe she could call for them to bring her snacks in bed or breakfast in bed... or lunch. All the possibilities. "You know how to bake?!" That was so cool. So awesometastical. "Do you think you could make the chocolate cake? I could totally assist and we'd look really cool making it if we could find some chef hats!" Juliette was down to get all covered in flour and eggs and whatever went into making a cake. She was so excited she missed the fact that the girl's face had turned slightly red with the name thing. "Yup like Romeo and Juliette minus the everyone dying in the end part." And yes she did vaguely remember the name Bernie, but for some reason she never associated it with... the girl in front of her. But was Juliette going to say that she didn't know the girl's name? Uh.... No.
She opened a cabinet to look inside there for the cake. Nope. No cake. No elf. "Hey Bernie, where do you think the house elves sleep?" Because maybe they needed to be woken up. And she needed to use the name casually so she didn't know that Juliette didn't know her name. Duh. Aww, Poppy! What a cute name for an elf! Bernie clapped for Poppy... but also in the hopes that if she made some noise, one of the school elves would pop up.
"Well, there's Beezley, and Nimma, and Pips, anddddd....Curly? Er, Quirly...?" She tapped her chin as she thought. "Pippin?" Or was it Tippin? "Toddles, of course, can't forget Toddles...." Bernie probably WAS forgetting a few, but she was pretty sure she'd met these ones before. At least SOME of them. She'd never forget the one who had popped into that Charms class when they made s'mores. Best lesson EVER since it came with FOOD!
As she talked, Bernie wandered around to the table that was under where the teachers sat. Hehe. "I wonder, if I put something here," like a dungbomb, "would it go UP to the table for dinnertime?" She looked back down to JuliETTE. "Oh, yeah," scoff scoff, "I could TOTALLY make a chocolate cake with jelly slugs inside." Er, wouldn't the jelly slugs melt in the oven though??!??!
Bernie tried not to look like she had no idea to cook over a fire, which was, presumably, how the house elves did things, since there was a MASSIVE fireplace in the corner and all. "I bet they sleep like, around here, in potato sacks and stuff. OOOOH, or maybe they have tiny little beds?!" Like in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves?!
Bernie almost couldn't HANDLE the cuteness at this thought. She immediately dropped to her knees to check under the table for a potato sack and/or basket or pot large enough for an elf to sleep in.
