Sometimes people didn't even believe him when he talked about the types of creatures he had gotten to see up close, touch, play with or help take care of. He never let it get to him though.

The first year shook his head laughing. "No but I wouldn't mind living on one." With his fathers previous job and his sisters current job, it was somewhat surprising to even him that someone in his family didn't have a farm. It would make explaining things much easier, that was for sure. "My dad used to be the shopkeeper at the Magical Menagerie in Diagon Alley. I would go there with him almost everyday to help out with all the creatures." That had only lasted a couple of years but those were years he would never forget. "My older sister is a Magizoologist Vet... she travels all around to study different creatures and take care of them. She has her own vet clinic and takes care of the creatures at Scamander Zoo. I also have a cousin that's studying dragons." When he isn't off touring with his band that is. So yes, all in all the small boys knowledge wasn't at all lacking when it came to creatures.

Lukas laughed again, grinning at Williamson when he nudged him. "You work with dragons?" His attention peaked, turning slightly on the steps to look at him. Dragons were by far one of the coolest creatures but due to their unpredictability he wasn't allowed to be near them very often. "Thestral's? You... can see them?" He didn't know why this surprised him. It made sense really, it was easier to take care of something when you could see it. Once again he didn't answer the question but this time it was simply by mistake, he was in silent awe by what he had heard.
"Ohhhhhhh," oh oh oh well that all made sense, dinnit? William let out a soft chuckle; not that he was laughing at the boy, but that he was relieved and impressed. So Lukas could be trusted to not drop the leash on a wampus or anything, eh? And maybe he could make contact with the boy's family if he needed their help with anything? "Lukas, that's fantastic." He clapped the boy on the shoulder again with hearty approval. A whole family of animal lovers! Now if only WWW had grown up with the same background... he might've been able to skip uni.

Though, to be fair, he did love his time at uni.

"WorkED with dragons," he clarified, just a little. "But yeah, that's what most of my experience has been. I hatched one, here at Hogwarts, back when I used to teach here." The first time, that was. But that was in the past. He waved his hand and glanced at the kid again, his expression softening. "Yeah...." hey, it was fine. "When you get to my age, Lukas, or if you do something dumb and dangerous like working with dragons, you're bound to....er, wind up seeing thestrals." If you yourself didn't become the reason they saw thestrals, anyway. He got that? Right? WWW wasn't being clear again...

WWW stretched out his legs then; they were getting cramped from sitting on the stairs here. "So d'ya wanna work with some animals this year, er...?" It COULD help his grade, not that his grade was bad in the first place.
