That kind of responsibility she has that has something to do with her and the company she is working with. In a way, that somehow sum up what she felt like working in the Ministry. To act like an adult and do adult work things even though she didn't do much. It was mostly supervised. As for pursuing Potions she nodded with no hesitation to the Hufflepuff. "I'd want to. My mother is a Potioneer" and her father was good at it too despite pursuing dragonology later but mostly because she felt like this was the one thing that makes her really close to her mother. Bleh, that was a topic for a different day.
'find herself' after school and travel. Her aunt actually did the same thing and she understands this concept. "Yeah it can be nerve-wracking especially when you are so used to the rest" she meant the travelling and the finding herself part. "i think she'll do awesome" Jillian added.
"pretty amazing" she chuckled as she looked at Kimmie. It is still awesome what her parents did. And by the looks of it the Hufflepuff girl is proud of her parents too. Jillian bobbed her head when Kimmie agreed that they should meet up during the summer. Yes, please. She will definitely take her up on that offer.
Another nod for the question about the bathroom. "On the fifth floor" that's where the bathroom is located and that's the best part. They have their mini tub in that place. They can basically have their own pool party.... but you know.... no. She took time to give her an answer on her question but she knows the badge doesn't make you intimidating. At least for her it doesn't. So she shook her head "not really. I mean, if you want to then I guess you can but not for me." she chuckled under her breath. She's very chill and she's not the type to micromanage everything and anything.
Oh my. She got in trouble in her previous school? Jillian is intrigued but of course she didn't want to pry. They just met and it can be a sensitive topic, especially if she is trying to better herself here at Hogwarts. Jillian listened though. "It's great that you are taking that step for yourself." Kimmie has always been nice here. So far her name hasn't come up with any of her fellow prefects so that is a great sign. "Be the change that you wish to see in the world." aaaand she quoted Gandhi. She smiled with a soft chuckle because it sounded really cheesy and especially to a fourth year too but this was the first thing that came to her mind. "you're making tons of friends here, yes?"
K nodded at Jillian's quick agreement that she would be interested in exploring Potions.
"Would you be able to even work with your mother?" She didn't know much about what the requirements would be for something like that, but she assumed she'd probably end up having to go to Wizarding University or something first. Although, even if they didn't have to, some people also just actually liked to study and learn more about subjects they were interested in. So she figured she should actually just go ahead and ask if there were aspirations for that as well.
"Will you continue at a University after Hogwarts?"
Fifth Floor. That was nice that it was in a pretty middle spot of the castle as well since it was open to all Prefects and they were all on such opposite ends of the castle.
"That's awesome! Definitely sounds like a nice perk." K fiddled with a corner of one of her books as Jillian thought on her answer. The younger girl doubted that the girl in front of her would ever be someone to try to abuse their power. Sure, she'd just met her, but so far she had been nothing but kind and offering to be helpful. Which her kind, helpful heart probably attributed to her position. K smiled and nodded as Jillian confirmed she normally didn't try to be intimidating,
"I'm sure that makes you really approachable with younger students." Consider she herself had just crashed her study session.
She flushed slightly when Jillian complimented her for taking that step and she smiled almost embarrassed,
"I can't take too much credit. It was a bit of a requirement for my transfer." More effort in classes and less time in detention. So far she had been holding up her end of the bargain. She giggled when the Slytherin chuckled, giving a small shrug,
"I like the quote." Because someone did actually have to start the change, right? Hearing her question, she nodded enthusiastically.
"Actually, yes. I'm surprised by how nice and welcoming everyone here at Hogwarts is. It's been a really nice transition."
