This one, a white Bordeaux, was fresh and a bit on the sweater side. It would go well with the cheeses and strawberries he had brought for them to nibble on. After producing a glass from the picnic bag, he poured Alba a glass and handed it over to her. Normally he would have waited for her to try it before pouring himself a glass, but he really needed a drink.
So pouring himself a glass, he answered her question. ”Too many ears around befair.” Sure, there were lots of people around the fountain, but it was less likely to be overheard here than in the Ministry. Also she worked in the Minister's Office area. To be overheard discussing international politics in the Minister's office with someone other than the DIMC Head, Undersecretary or the Minster? Yeah, that wouldn't go well for him. If Alba was going to spend time with him, she’d need to learn a few non-magical tricks for not being overheard without magic. It was funny, if you thought about it. He knew she had after all, spent a lot of time in the muggle world. ”Thengs at 'omé 'ave been tense and aye am not sure 'ow much la Ministère des Affaires Magiques de la France wants the information getting oot.” AKA he was telling her this information and she needed to keep it to herself. He didn't feel the need to voice that however. If he didn't trust Alba, he wouldn't be here sharing a bottle of wine.
He took a sip of wine as he looked out over the square. He was quiet for a moment. ”Parts of Notre-Dame, the Arc de Triomphe, even the Pyramide du Louvre ‘ave been defaced with non-magiques graffiti.” To deface those highly visual and heavily visited landmarks were bad enough, but to add the hate movement behind it was worse.
Alba took a sip of her wine. It was delicious!
"You Sir, have very find taste." Alba added taking an additional sip. She could have drained the glass really, but thought it was best not to over indulge, she did after all have to work again tomorrow.
Alba smiled, good, she figured it was because they were inside the ministry before as to his answers and she was happy to see that, that truly was the reason and not that Vale didn't trust her or want to share information with her.
"This may sound silly, but are you sure it's wizards doing the graffiti? Any chance it could be muggles?" Alba was trying to remember if he had said anything that seemed out of the realm of what muggles were capable of without magic, but honestly she couldn't.
"Your secrets are safe with me." Alba added, knowing that she didn't have to say it out loud either, but she would never betray Valentin's trust list that, never. It had taken her far to long to earn friendships around here.
