Avalon was staring out the window, watching the raindrops drip down, when she flinched at a loud commotion. OH! There was Professor Rainwater, apparently. Had he just been hiding under his workstation the whole time? That was kind of....bizarre. Interesting way to start a class. And then he was laughing about his toadstool pun. Laughing, like, a lot. Well, Avalon could always count on Professor Rainwater to be a lively character, even on a dreary day like today.

Too bad they were actually learning about toadstools today, though. Avalon didn't know what was worse - learning about toadstools or learning about those two toads at the front. Both were disgusting, and honestly, she didn't know much about either of them. Except for the fact that they sometimes used leaping toadstools in potions. Luckily, some of her classmates' jogged her mind. "Like Naya said, toadstools are often thought of as mushrooms that are poisonous, probably because their name is associated with toads, which were known to carry diseases," she said after raising her hand. She had no idea if it was actually true or not, but she knew it was kind of a legend that toadstools were bad to eat, but mushrooms were okay. "I don't think there's any scientific difference between a toadstool and a mushroom, but people usually use the term toadstool to refer to inedible fungi."
