The wampus seemed like she wanted some pets and attention, but Avalon was not going to take that bait. Even though the cat was just a baby, and was probably injured, she didn't want to risk getting her hand bitten off or something. Isla looked as if she didn't want to take that chance either. Avalon reached into her pocket and dropped a few treats in front of Fiona's nose. Not that it would make up for what had happened, but it was better than just standing there. Plus, she felt bad for not petting the poor thing.

PFFT. EWW. Those were NOT bacon OR deer flavored. Just as quickly as she'd sucked up the treats, Fiona was spitting them back out again and meowing LOUDER this time.
What, NOW they were being cautious around the wampus? WWW rolled his eyes at Isla and Avalon, not that they could see that. Sunglasses had more uses than one.
He ran a hand over the wampus, not really concerned since he had dragonhide gloves on and dragonhide was THE BEST. Dragon anything was a winner in his book. The cat felt fine, no broken bones or anything, and when she spat out the treats, he (rightfully) guessed that she was just up to her usual dramatics. "Trying to control humans with legilimency, I see," he mused, standing up and tucking his wand back into its wrist holster on his left hand.
"Okay, maybe try to just give her some exercise?" He looked between the girls, but not specifically at one or the other. He was a bit disappointed by both of them, to be frank. "I think she likes toys." And with that, the professor walked away to leave them to their charge.
Some things you just had to learn by trial and error.
Out of the corner of her eye, Isla saw Avalon take the leash. Truth be told, she was kind of glad the older girl did. Now Isla had lost her confidence in this whole activity, and even though she was going to see it through to the end, she was glad not to be the one with the leash.
"I'm sorry, Avalon. It was my bad idea that got us in this situation. I should have known that a wampus would act differently than a kneazle," she said. One thing was for sure. She knew it now, and she wouldn't be forgetting it.
She watched as the professor pet the wampus and determined her to be okay. Isla was an animal lover, and she would be glad to see
any animal okay. But at this moment and time, she had never been happier to see an animal come to and be fine and alive. As WWW wandered off, Isla looked at Avalon again.
"I don't think I'm his favorite person in the world right now," she mumbled. Anyway, exercise and toys sounded perfect.
"Why don't we just start with a simple walk around the course. Just the perimeter. No fancy tricks right now." Fiona didn't seem to like the treats, so she wouldn't bother with going to get any of those.
