Jumping jarveys was it dance class already?
Without meaning to, the horse began moving wildly about, its legs taking it all about. This was perhaps il-advised as the horse nearly trampled on several of the boy's classmates in this uncontrolled dancing. Excuse me, coming through, s'cuse me coming through.
It was on a war path, knocking into several students.
Just when she got the bridle in hand and was about to use her wand to place it over the wood horse's mouth, Carsyn turned around and the horse was gone .... ??? Uhhhh?? Did she get bonus points for sending the horse away without needing to harm the demon creature?
Oh wait, there it was.
Moving after the horse, she quickly flicked her wand at the bridle and a swift "Fixate" to move it onto the horse's snout. Hopefully would work.... Only another horse swiftly moved through and caused Carsyn to jump out of its way and she lost focus on her own so she was unable to see if she'd successfully managed to bridle her horse or not. Not that it mattered, since it seemed they were moving on... Quote:

Others had too but given his whole spiel on other spells not working on actual kelpies, he was quite disappointed they opted to use other spells for this exercise. They'd have learned nothing by the end if they thought stunning and slowing kelpies were an actual option in the real world and he didn't know where to begin with that. "Let's call this a wrap." He vanished the remaining horses, relieved no one else could now nearly get themselves killed. "And let me just....we do not accio things that are attached, to bigger and heavier things." He didn't think that needed further explanation. There had been four students who'd been demonstration enough of what could happen. "Let that be the last time any of you attempt anything like that." Whether it was kelpies or anything else in life. That safety seminar was definitely happening. He'd make sure of it. "As I mentioned earlier, the way to defeat a kelpie is to get a bridle over its mouth. As I also said, most other spells will not work against a kelpie. They are demons. Spirits." Looking to everyone who stunned or otherwise cast at the creatures to get bridles on. "Wooden horses aside, you've simply bought it more time to kill you. Don't do it." All the neat parlour tricks they'd done helped some of them this lesson, but it had as easily backfired on others. "Shield charms are ineffective. Touching them," Looking at all of you who thought to pet or otherwise be in contact with these things, "Is a very bad idea. Just a touch and you're attached. You're attached and they drag you down into the murky depths." He'd said all this before, he had. It was clear many chose not to listen because they would "just put a bridle on it and be okay". He hoped now they saw that kelpies were living (sorta), moving creatures who would not wait around to be bridled. "I'm hesitant to be moving on but in the next portion you'll be in teams and less likely to die by that virtue. Get into groups. I'll need three evenly distributed teams. Purple, orange and green. You will be up against kelpies next. Not real ones, but they do imitate them rather closely. The school is under attack. It is your job to capture these kelpies and save us." So everything they'd chosen to ignore before...they may wanna remember now.
Malachi vanished the bucket of bridles then produced three of a bigger size, featherlight so anyone could easily cast on them, first years included. "In your teams, you will work on a plan, a strategy, and you will take down your kelpie. First to take it down effectively, can choose if they attend the safety seminar."
With that said, he raised his wand once more. The water in the lake began to shift and bubble. In seconds, three large kelpies rose from its depths in menacing form. Each took on the colour of the different teams. They were nothing like the wooden horses, much bigger and more true to form. "Begin." OOC: Time for the final activity, y'all. I've had a blast reading the trials so far Now, get into three teams and please title your posts with your teams colour to make it easier for all. Try to keep the teams even. I'll be playing the kelpies so please do not RP any actions on their behalf. Class will end on May 12 @ 11:59 pm EST. Good luck and have fun! Three teams to take down a kelpie. No red, so orange or purple would be a close second, to which Carsyn quickly made a count of each of the groups and while her mentee was over in team purple, they did have one extra person ... which meant team orange it was. There was already a pretty even distribution of younger and older students in each of the three teams at quick glance, so she should be alright.
Approaching the group, she frowned when she overheard Phoebe. "Calling the demon big guy won't be effective, nor will telling it to come at you." Perhaps she needed to hold a whole class for these third years, not just mentor Bernie?
