Jillian usually just opens her book and attempt to study but ends up not doing that. She would mostly snack and then forget that she was suppose to study. Oh well. She is trying to prepare a little bit early than usual so that her last 3 months would be more chill. She remembers her OWLs, she was cramming some of the subjects last minute. Speaking of snacking, she does have lollipops in her bag. She took them out casually as the girl spoke. "He usually likes it if I write to him first." that way he would know Jillian is still alive. "Yes, we live in the UK. He works at the Ministry" she nodded "how about your parents?" adding to the conversation as she opened her hand in front of her. In her palm was 4 different flavors of lollipop: strawberry, milk vanilla, blueberry and matcha. "Pick one.... or two" she chuckled. Yes, it was okay to pick two since she had more where that came from.
Dread? Dread was an understatement. NEWTs are a different kind of difficulty compared to OWLs, she assumed. Plus most of the adults she talked to did confirm that NEWTs were a little bit different. Hence, the name= Nastily and Exhausting. "Just wanting to prepare because I'm not a big fan of cramming." this is very true. She hated it, even the idea of it. Eww. "what year are you in?" she looked like around 4th or 5th year. She could be here studying for her OWLs.

She chuckled because Jillian knew she wouldn't study in the first place so why does she even bother with the opened book in front of her. Jillian looked at Kimmie and shakes her head softly "buzz off? That would be un-prefect of me" technically, head girl but still the same. "I can help you with homework". Yes, that would make her day less boring.
K nodded as the older girl spoke, nodding her head. Parents usually did like to be reached out to first, it also gave them a feeling of not nagging. At least, that was how it seemed to go with her parents. Though her radio silence never seemed to deter them from nagging anyways. Ahh, a ministry worker!
"That's cool! My older sister works at the ministry as well." Her parents?
"My dad is in muggle law enforcement and my Mom teaches at a Wizardry primary school in Alaska in the States." Fairly boring jobs.
And then Jillian was offering her lollipops? She was a glutton for all food, so K smiled her thanks and reached forward to select a green one.
"Thank you."
So spreading out her studying throughout the year definitely seemed like the smartest option to K. She'd like to think she'd do the same next year in order to not drown -- but in all honesty, it was probably lucky if she ended up studying at all.
"Sounds like the smartest course of action. Gives you more time to ask questions too on if there is anything you are unsure of." Start early and more chance of understanding more fully.
"I'm a fourth year. So, thankfully it's not my OWL year quite yet."
K smiled at her, trying to convey her appreciation for humoring her in conversation and being so genuinely
nice about it as well. Un - prefectly?
"How do you like being a prefect?" K would imagine it could get exhausting, but who knew?
