He had a headache, officially. He’d never liked history when he was homeschooled and now there was this other kind of history he would need to learn from scratch. Was this was a brain overload felt like? And just think, this was basic introductory stuff. He could only imagine how overwhelmed he would be as exams drew closer.

Guess?

He could guess?

Well then, that made this a little easier.

Kitt leeeeaaannnneed closer to his dormmate—great bloke by the way—they all were in that dorm. Pssssssst, Kale, pssssst. Can I uh...can I see your answers.”

Please?

The pssssssst caught Kale's fleeting attention. The Gryffindor turned to his housemate AND dormmate, and immediately grinned. Yah. Sure. Of course he would share his answers. Sharing was caring, after all. He had learned that from his mother when Mavis was little. It was better to share toys than to hog them. He supposed it was the same for learning, too. Share what you know. That is the only way people grow. Merlin, that was basically what Professors did.

Did this make him basically a professor?!

He didn't have the mental acuity to deal with that rabbit hole right now. Instead, he shared his answers with his dormmate happily and whispered, "Yah. Here ya go, bro."
Gabi had been pacing the room, watching them all work as she kept glancing at the clock, waiting for 10 minutes to go by. So naturally, Kitt's nudging towards his neighbor had not gone unnoticed. She walked by him and tapped his desk with her polished fingernail, smirking at him slightly. "Eyes on your own paper, please, Mister Lazarus," she reminded him gently. And that would be his ONLY reminder before points started getting taken away, in case he wasn't already away.

And as for Kale..."Please don't share answers with your classmates - let them figure it out themselves," she told the Hufflepuff with a small nod, reminding him as well to not encouraging cheating in her classroom. Admirable as his actions were to help his friend, she didn't want this to become a habit so she was squashing it NOW.

She continued to do her laps around the room, glancing at everyone's answers to see what people thought. There were a variety of answers - some right, some wrong, but it seemed evident that everyone was at least putting in effort to put them in the correct order. After what seemed like an eternity (probably since she had been walking around and staring at the clock) 10 minutes had passed, and their time had elapsed. "Alright everyone, that's a wrap," Gabi announced as she headed back to the head of the class. "Here is the correct order!"

She waved her wand and the correct answers displayed themselves on the board.

Quote:
-Expelled from Hogwarts (1913)
-Commissioned to write Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (1918)
-Met Tina Goldstein (1926)
-Created the Werewolf Ledger (1947)
-Wrote and passed the Ban on Experimental Breeding (1965)
-Awarded the Order of Merlin (2nd Class) (1979)

"These are just a small snippet of the accomplishments that Newt achieved during his long life,"
she explained, pausing to give the students a moment to scribble down the correct answer in their notes. "As you can see, the earliest event was his expulsion from Hogwarts. Interestingly, he took the fall for his good friend, Leta Lestrange," she added, giving a bit of background to the story. Quite honestly? It was a dumb decision to do that, in her opinion. At least he had gotten to keep his wand - a luxury that was not awarded to many. "However, his reputation for being skilled when it came to magical creatures, especially after the first World War, as many of you brought up, led him to being approached by a publishing company to write Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," she continued on.

If only she knew how many of her students were thinking about the fact that he had been successful despite being expelled - she'd be just a LITTLE concerned about putting the wrong ideas in their heads.

"Tina Goldstein was, of course, his future wife, so that was an influential moment in his life when he met her,"
she paused for a second to give them a second to catch up in note taking once again. "The Werewolf Registry that he helped create was done in an effort to try and keep track of werewolves in Great Britain," she explained, although whether or not it was ACTUALLY beneficial was up for debate. That was a topic for another day, perhaps.

"The next event was the Ban on Experimental Breeding that Newt was instrumental in creating," Gabi stated, continuing her explanation of the topic. "The obvious benefit to society from this is that experimental breeds cannot be made willy nilly. This prevents wizards from possibly upsetting already established ecosystems or releasing potentially dangerous creatures on society," she explained. That was all rather obvious, right? "Finally, for all his contributions to magizoology, as well as his other great achievements in life," which they would all touch on in a minute, "Newt was awarded the Order of Merlin, 2nd class, in the 1970's." she finished.

"This is the perfect time to transition to our next topic of conversation - the impact Newt had on the wizarding world OUTSIDE of his work with creatures. What other events in Wizarding history was Newt Scamander an influential part of?" she asked them.

OOC: Ok everyone, onto the next question! You'll have approximately 22 hours to post in this part of the lesson, maybe a bit more depending on how crazy work gets tomorrow (you never know with my clinic). Let me know if you have any questions!
