Well, hypothetical just went out the window. The kelpie horse clearly was not pleased that Naya had tried to rein him in. He was angry and made a move toward the sixth year. Her first instinct was to throw up a shield charm, but of course that would be useless in this situation.

Naya tried not to panic. Panic only made things worse. Focus was what she needed, focus and concentration. Taking a few steps back, she raised her wand again. Naya went through the proper motions and said, “Fixate”, more forcefully this time. Moving back a little further, she concentrated on guiding the bridle toward the horse. She had to get it place. She had to because if she missed, it would only anger the horse more. The Headmaster wouldn’t let her get trampled by a kelpie horse......would he? Hopefully she would handle the situation and not have to find out.
