How pathetic, he thought, shaking his head. However, before he could give himself a proper internal scolding for his indecisiveness, another student was speaking. Huh? Was she… She certainly was speaking to him and she had a recommendation. He glanced behind him to find a girl who looked around his age suggesting popping boba or chocolate. Solid choices indeed. He nodded. “Boba is always a good choice but I’ve never had it with ice cream..” He paused, pursed his lips, and then shrugged his shoulders. “Could be an unexpectedly good combination… I think I’ll try it and add chocolate –thank you!” He had only really had boba in thai ice tea that he would get at the restaurant a street over from his home. It was his family’s go to take out destination- good spicy authentic Thai food. He was getting hungry just thinking about it now. Then he realized that he may have been inconveniencing this poor girl and be a factor that would cause her ice cream to melt!
“Here go ahead of me. I’m sorry if I kept you waiting,” he admitted, running a free hand through his hair. A nervous, awkward tick of his. He chuckled and stepped to the side to let her go ahead. “Don’t want your ice cream to melt,” he said, offering her a small smile. “What are you getting?”
Kimmie smiled at the boy when he turned to look at her as she spoke giving a small nod at his thanks.
"No problem! Boba is one of my favorites, drinks and ice cream so I'm always more than happy to suggest it." Even though her opinion was not asked, Kimmie was always more than willing to share it. Probably why she didn't have a lot of friends at school. But, oh well.
"I apologize in advance if it's not really to your liking." Because she would feel a little bad if she just ruined his dessert.
Her smile grew slightly when he moved to let her go through, and she gave a small nod in his direction to emphasis her thanks.
"Thank you! No inconvenience at all though." Her ice cream wasn't at risk at all. Stepping forward and putting her bowl out under the glass shoots, she named off her boba and fruit choices while it dumped into her bowl.
"Just fruit and boba on boring vanilla for me. I don't tend to differentiate for my normal."
Moving out of the way again so that he had access to the bar, Kimmie balanced her ice cream in one hand before offering her other out in greeting.
"I'm Kimberly Amstern. Are you a Hogwarts student?"
