Of course she still had the goal to play Seeker for Gryffindor at least once, but that seemed like a far-fetched dream than reality now, wasn't it?
But there something comforting that seemed to draw the Gryffindor sixteen year old to this very shop every summer... even if she didn't need anything new. Being seeker meant very little equipment required, except a fast broom. Even if it was to just stare at the newest broom arrivals and contemplate if it was worth trading her two year old broom in for an upgrade. Perhaps perusing Seeker Digest to see if they spotlighted her yet, which was another doubtful thing. Despite the fact that she was certainly unable to afford any of the fancy new brooms and she didn’t really need anything in this shop, being the quidditch enthusiast that she was (and the last person to hold the position of Gryffindor starting seeker, a fact she would boast to any who would listen), Cordelia always loved visiting the quidditch supply shop. It reminded her of what could be. Sometimes she fantasized about being one of those star quidditch players on the covers of magazines such as Quidditch International or Snitch: The Magazine and racing through the air on a Nimbus 4000. However, in her heart she knew how unlikely that would be. Hogwarts hadn’t even had quidditch the past two years and she had only ever played for the recreational summer leagues. If she was to be noticed in a more professional capacity she would need to make the competitive summer league. Spotting Carsyn browsing the shelves, Cordelia couldn’t help herself but to bring up the subject of Hogwarts quidditch. ”Reckon they’ll let us play quidditch at school again next year?” If there was to be quidditch again, Cordelia was on for the battle at tryouts to be seeker.
