There seemed to be a fine line between the two and she tended to thrive on the ability to push people away whenever she saw fit (which then became a self-fulfilling prophecy) and him taking all of this in stride had her entirely spooked. Spooked and reminded entirely too much of Jesus who had made his choices and walked right out of her life and with several of his things thrown out their shared apartment's window and Bombarda'd to the street below.
But this boy. What was he playing at?
He was doing that on purpose as well, repeating her name over and over again like a pompous peacock to remind her that he had knowledge she did not. This was the reward she received for attempting to be a little more pleasant than usual.
"Do you always take your days with such stride or have I happened to find you in particularly amicable a mood," she inquired haughtily with her hands on her hips. She would lament that she was not able to heed his request, but she felt absolutely no need to. "I do not. I make it my business specifically to not carry a mirror nor compact on me. You will have to settle for another reflective surface."
