She hadn't intended on talking, like at all, but Bernie did blurt out, "Wasn't Cole your partner for the baby project?" Her blue eyes flicked to Isla, who'd been partnered with BLAKE, and then back to Claudine. "How did that go?"

Speaking of pets, though, Bernie did have to bring something up to Claudine. "We have to buy some crups this summer, before school starts again," she announced with a meaningful LOOK at Claudine and Sammy. Surely Claudine would know W H Y.
