No, not his voice. His eyes...and she lacked the patience to entertain such blatant staring. Not that she typical bore the patience for it to begin with, but today Valerie was likely to transfigure any unfiltered gazes into dung beetles.
Her eyes narrowed and her thoughts were almost begging him to slip up so she could snap. As if she was a Veela. Go ahead, try her.
"...do I give off the appearance of being alright?" she sneered rhetorically. What an obviously stupid inquiry. "It would do your eyes good if you blinked." Still, the anger. The fury. The RAAAAGE. Again, consider him calmly impressed, and David had grown up with THE Anastasia Bunbury Truebridge, a true demon if anyone ever crossed her path and sometimes if they were just in the vicinity of her. This... pale being was nearly in leagues with her. Give her twenty years, perhaps, and she might hold a candle to his mother's wrath.
As it were, David DID blink at her command, and his mouth also twitched in amusement. "You give off the appearance of being something else entirely," he responded, finally taking a bite of sandwich and calmly chewing while he still watched her. Speaking of eyes, and blinking...
Would it be rude to ask her if she knew which of the seven forms of oculocutaneous albinism she had? Because clearly she to be albino (was it albina for women?). Again, this was fascinating to him and he was not at all repulsed by her appearance, or her fury, as he continued eating his sandwich.
