The buckets overhead didn't escape Carsyn's notice; she was faintly more curious about the two cups of water on their desks. Were they there to drink? The discussion about how to avoid getting wet was one that Carsyn was somewhat listening too, but after impervius and umbrella and ponchos were mentioned, was there other ways? Besides the obvious choice of staying inside when it was raining which wasn't always a viable option. Although, if Carsyn was being honest, there was something exhilarating about dancing in the rain but that was not particularly relevant to the discussion.

Impervius charm was one of review for the fifth year, particularly as she had utilized it during quidditch practices a few times already. As a fifth year though, did that mean she was expected to make it more challenging? Attempting a spell you were comfortable with as non-verbal? Maybe, but Carsyn had literally only read about non-verbals thus far in her education and since Professor Fuller-Thompson hadn't implied he expected it from older students, she wasn't about to start now. Not with the bucket of presumably water looming overhead.

Slipping on the glove, she tapped it with her wand, a careful pronunciation of impervius as she'd done on her quidditch robes and goggles numerous times and without another thought, dumped half the contents of the cup onto her palm. It rolled off, spilling onto her desk. In quick succession, the gryffindor prefect slid her notes away just in time. Close call and decidedly - especially at the Professor's new announcement on the buckets - she slid the notes into her bag, zipping it up. A tap of impervius on that and then another on the top of her head.

She was ready. Bring on the h two oh.

Which was just in the nick of time, as the bucket dumped overhead and she vaguely felt something but it spilled over her and onto the floor, similar to how the cup of water rolled off her gloved hand onto the desk. She was dry, as expected for someone who had utilized the spell before. Of course.
