Well... this seventh year already knew how to cast the Water Repelling Charm, so Gunnar hoped that they'd be doing something more in class. Otherwise, he felt his time would have been better spent with his NEWT studies than with a class review. But he also did not care to have water dumped on him from the bucket, which he eyed precariously. He was sure there was water in there.
So he set about waterproofing his immediate area. He cast Impervius first on both gloves, then his desk, and his clothes, and his books. And he was confident enough in his casting that he didn't feel the need to test it.
