Fiona inwardly beamed when she discovered that she had indeed offered the right suggestion. Fiona hadn't performed the charm personally but she had seen her parents perform it so she felt confident in being able to master the charm.
Donning the glove on her left hand, Fiona held her wand in her right hand and tapped the glove as she said, "Impervious!" She then placed her wand on her desk and picked up one of the cups of water. She poured a bit of water onto part of the glove and could feel the liquid saturating where she had poured.
Sighing to herself, she placed the cup back down on the desk and picked up her wand. Concentrating immensely, Fiona tapped a wider area of her glove and in a slightly louder and clearer voice said, "Impervious!" The Slytherin second-year then swapped her wand for the cup and once again poured water onto her glove. To her delight, it had worked.
